PROMISE Application Timeline
2008-2009 High School Seniors:
- November 3, 2008
- The Common Application is available at www.wvapply.com.
- December 13, 2008
- Last date to take the ACT to meet PROMISE eligibility. Scores will not be accepted for any tests taken after this date for students applying for the 2009 PROMISE award. The regular registration deadline for the December ACT is November 7, 2008.
- January 1, 2009
- The 2008-2009 FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
- January, 24 2009
- Last date to take the SAT to meet PROMISE eligibility. Scores will not be accepted for any tests taken after this date for students applying for the 2009 PROMISE award. The regular registration deadline for the January SAT is December 26, 2008.
- March 1, 2009
- Students must complete the Common Application online or submit a completed paper application to the PROMISE Scholarship Office. Applications submitted by mail must be postmarked by March 1, 2009. Students may use their eighth semester grades to achieve PROMISE eligibility (3.0 GPA in the core and overall), but the student must apply by March 1, 2009. Students may apply online at www.wvapply.com or by downloading a copy of the paper application.
- March 1, 2009
- Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form must be received by the Federal Student Aid Processing Center on or before March 1, 2009 and must meet the conditions for processing. Students may apply online at www.fafsa.ed.gov or by completing a paper copy of the FAFSA.
- April 2009
- Award letters mailed to PROMISE Scholars.
