PROMISE Application Timeline
2007-2008 GED or Home School Students:
- November 1, 2007
- The Common Application is available at www.wvapply.com.
- December 8, 2007
- Last date to take the ACT to meet PROMISE eligibility. Scores will not be accepted for any tests taken after this date for students applying for the 2008 PROMISE award. The registration deadline for the December ACT is November 2, 2007.
- January 1, 2008
- The 2008-2009 FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
- January, 26 2008
- Last date to take the SAT to meet PROMISE eligibility. Scores will not be accepted for any tests taken after this date for students applying for the 2008 PROMISE award. The registration deadline for the January SAT is December 26, 2007.
- March 1, 2008
- GED and home schooled students should take the GED exam prior to March 1, 2008. These students must score a minimum of 2500 on the GED exam.
- March 1, 2008
- Students must complete the Common Application online or submit a completed paper application to the PROMISE Scholarship Office. Applications submitted by mail must be postmarked by March 1, 2008. Students may apply online at www.wvapply.com or by downloading a copy of the paper application.
- March 1, 2008
- Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form must be received by the Federal Student Aid Processing Center on or before March 1, 2008 and must meet the conditions for processing. Students may apply online at www.fafsa.ed.gov or by completing a paper copy of the FAFSA.
- April 2007
- Award letters mailed to PROMISE Scholars.
